2011 is starting as a great year for people of the world and a bad year for despots. Ben Ali of Tunisia is gone, after 23 years. Hosni Mubarak of Egypt is gone, after 30 years. Now it is time for Mummar-al-Gaddafi to leave after 42 years, and Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, after 31 years. The list of Africa's despots is still long and the people of the continent can take heart from the events of North Africa. Afterall, the North Africans also lead in the original fight for independence.
