Google Voice was launched with much funfare and pomp a couple of years ago, and I got a line. In time, I encouraged others to do the same, and gradually transitioned a great number of my phone calls ; domestic and international to Google Voice. I also have a Verizon wireless phone.
Initialy, all was well. Call quality was mostly clear, at least for all local calls, and international call quality was mostly bearable, or so I thought. The cost per minute for international calls while cheaper than Verizon wireless costs (even with their international plan), it was comparable with many other services including Skype and Net2Phone - two of my other favorites. On an android phone, Google Voice seems even more appealing, given the deep integration with the phone platform. Well that was the case until I began to hear complaints.
People call me and could never get through. And for such calls, I never got any indication of the calls.
