US foreign policy debate since the end of the Berlin Wall (or perhaps earlier) has been fraught with bogey men - This is President's Eisenhower's reasoning when warning the nation to beware of the military industrial complex. WAT, WMD in Iraq, etc are all examples of mis-directed attention. The news from North Africa and the Middle East is beginning to reveal how this nation has been duped, and has allowed itself to be duped into mis-adventures....
Hopefully, this president will learn these important lessons of history and continue the hard work of re-investing at home. There is an old saying " Charity begins at home..." Republicans angling for more wars and less health should be schooled on this basic wisdom
