American ally, Bahrain, massacring its own people

Seeing American toothless bark against Lybian Qaddaifi's murderous rampage in Tripoli and Benghazi, the criminals of Bahrain have ordered their own massacre on the streets of Manama with reports of soldier ambush and indiscriminate firing of live ammunition to quell a peaceful demonstration. The visit of Admiral Mike Mullen to Bahrain , home of the 5th Fleet, seems to have done nothing but bolstered the Bahraini monarchy. Someone in the US government seems scared enough of the potential for chaos on the streets of the middle east that America is left with hollow calls for restrain. The worst impact of an all out middle-east uprising is the potential for oil prices to skyrocket, maybe to $200 per barrel, which could translate into as much as $10 per gallon at US pumps. But the upsides beat the down side. For one, America will be woken out of its lethargy and quickly refocus its energy on energy independence. And two, the people of the middle-east will actually gain their independe...

Gaddafi: the butcher of Tripoli

Barely one week after Lybians took to the street to call for the ouster of African uber madman, Muammar Gaddafi is proving his reputation as the butcher of Tripoli. Gaddafi has spent the last 42 years conning Libyans out of their national wealth, forcing the people into unnecessary regional and national disputes through his childish tantrums and belligerence and making Libya the laughing stock everywhere. In the last one week Gaddafi has authorized his minions including mercenaries and snipers to shoot and obliterate Libyans asking for more say in how their nation is being run. The blood of Libyans have stained the murderous tantaloons of the crazed butcher of Libya http://blogs.aljazeera.net/middle-east/2011/02/17/live-blog-libya | Cries for help from Benghazi - Africa - Al Jazeera English | http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/libya/8335934/Libya-protests-140-massacred-as-Gaddafi-sends-in-snipers-to-crush-dissent.html

An now to Libya, and then Morocco

2011 is starting as a great year for people of the world and a bad year for despots. Ben Ali of Tunisia is gone, after 23 years. Hosni Mubarak of Egypt is gone, after 30 years. Now it is time for Mummar-al-Gaddafi to leave after 42 years,  and Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, after 31 years. The list of Africa's despots is still long and the people of the continent can take heart from the events of North Africa. Afterall, the North Africans also lead in the original fight for independence.

Mubarak is deposed ! Now the real work begins

Muhammad Hosni Sayyid Mubarak  ( Arabic :  محمد حسني سيد مبارك ‎,  Egyptian Arabic pronunciation:  [mæˈħæmːæd ˈħosni ˈsæjːed moˈbɑːɾɑk]  , the Egyptian strongman for nearly three decades (October 14, 1981 - February 11, 2011) finally bowed to pressure from the streets of Egypt and a subtle push from the Egyptian military, today, after more than 18 days (from January 25, 2011) of what seems to have been a spontaneous street demonstration following the ouster of another African strongman, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali  ( Arabic :  زين العابدين بن علي ‎,  Zayn al-‘Ābidīn bin ‘Alī)  of Tunisia.

The begining of another Tech bubble

Facebook, a site where people meet and socialize  - A site that claims more than 500 million users globally. A site that takes users privacy for granted. Facebook is currently valued at $50 billion dollars! Apple is valued at almost $300 billion and Groupon even spurned a $6 billion takeover by Google, believing it can do better on its own. The Tech offsprings of web 2.0 are all coming of age and playing the games of the Tech offsprings of Web 1.0. But one thing is certain, it is investors beware as we begin the gradual but certain descent to the next tech-bubble!
