The movie, "Game Change", is a de-javu to 2008. Although I did not read the book, the movie sure did judgment to the times and the reporting of the times. But every movie maker have an objective, and they aren't always altruistic. Whatever the objective of this movie, it does humanizes the principals ; John McCain, Sarah Palin and Steve Schmidth. Indeed, the movie at some stage portrayed John McCain as a political animal more interested in winning than his campaign slogan of country first. He gambled with Palin, because he was a risk taker. He took a reckless gamble. But the movie also showed a courageous, under-seige and ambitious Palin.  It even confirmed her side of the story on her religiosity and her human reaction to the pregnancy of her teenage daughter. The movie unabashedly portrayed Palin as a human being, the real human being that she is, and that will win her more sympathy over time. The movie tells the story of a human and national tragedy. "Politics is the art of the possible ", so said some ancient maxim. I'm not sure I can figure out whose words those really are, but in today's America, those words ring hollow. American politics have become the art of the impossible, since a leading opposition politician declared at the beginning of a new administration and a new congress, that his highest goal for the nation was the "defeat" of the yet to be inaugurated president.
