In the 2012 budget priorities there are several obvious oddities including increases over 2010 base budget that seems to discountenance reason - given that 2010 budget reflects robust increases sustained by the Democratic congresses from 2006 through 2010 and two years of stimulus minded budgets - which reason dictates should be pared back to more sustainable levels. Other interesting highlights of the budgets is the obvious duplication of efforts across departments for example : Renewable Energy is addressed in Agriculture and Energy. Nuclear Energy Security is addressed in both Energy and Defense. Funding Highlights

The madman of Libya had a grand ambition and had no premonitions interfering in local affairs from Sierra Leone to Burkina Faso, from Chad to Liberia and everywhere else he was allowed to forment trouble. For more than a decade, Qaddafi's minions evoked terror on the people of West Africa as he provided patronage to militants and coup masters in Burkina Faso, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea Conakry. There were rumors a couple of weeks ago of the likely tie-up between Spint and Deutsch Telekom Tmobile. Since that rumor kicked in, Sprint Share saw a quick sprint, moving above $5 in more than one year. But today's statement that AT&T and not Sprint will snag off Tmobile cannot be good news for Sprint or its shareholders who have watched the shares lag behind the industry and the stock market in general since 2008.
