Affordable Care Act and its impact

Yesterday, after months of suspense, CJSC John Roberts read the court's decision to a waiting nation, declaring the humongous ACA constitutional, and by extension making a lie of the accusation by right-wing extremists (seems like the entire Republican party these days) accusations that the Democratic led 111th congress overreached on their constitutional authority and that the President ignores the constitution - all rationale minded people knew this was bogus of course. But the barrage of political hack job to dent the potential achievements of the nation's first black President, and perhaps pay Democrats back for their attacks (justified or not) on George W. Bush, had led to a gross misinformation of the electorate. In 2010, The Republicans were soundly rewarded at the polls for their duplicity - so far, there have no incentive to change their ways.

Flipping and Flopping - A Republican version of life

In 2004, George W. Bush re-election campaign sunk the fledging campaign of John Kerry, when a gang of Bush passes swift boated him with accusations of flip flopping. Kerry had been for a tax before he was against it. Mitt Romney, the 2012 presumptive Republican Presidential nominee is however the King of Flipping and Flopping. It is not sure what kind of water Massachusettsans drive or if there is a flipping and flopping gene afloat in the Boston area air, but Politicians from the New England State sure know how to get it going.

Of Cares, health, a Judge and a President

Today, Chief Judge Robert snuck an hellenic gift into the political landscape of 2012 elections. In a landmark ruling that roiled the right, and will for a few days enliven the left, the Chief Judge dealt the President a sleigh of hands. By taking a tortuous route to claim the central premise of the mandate as a power of congress under commerce law was indeed unconstitutional, but that he will allow the law to stand by making the mandate a tax - he called the President, who had all along claimed this was not a tax, a liar!

Google 2 Factor Authentication Failing

Suddenly, 2 factor authentication service for Google devices seems to have failed, more than a year after being used. The first inclination of a failure came as warning. Device authentication , password expiration and login-error failures. Taking this as a cue to change my password, and update my device authentication, I proceeded to do all these things and got a short reprieve. But a minute after logging in, the errors re-occurred again. I then reset the phone, cleaned up the authentication on Google Apps and started all over again. Once again, I got another 1 minute reprieve before the three errors appeared again. Now, I am convinced this is a failure of the 2 factor authentication. I will investigate this further, as time permits and leave posts my findings on this page....

Game Change - unintended consequences

The movie, "Game Change", is a de-javu to 2008. Although I did not read the book, the movie sure did judgment to the times and the reporting of the times. But every movie maker have an objective, and they aren't always altruistic. Whatever the objective of this movie, it does humanizes the principals ; John McCain, Sarah Palin and Steve Schmidth. Indeed, the movie at some stage portrayed John McCain as a political animal more interested in winning than his campaign slogan of country first. He gambled with Palin, because he was a risk taker. He took a reckless gamble. But the movie also showed a courageous, under-seige and ambitious Palin.  It even confirmed her side of the story on her religiosity and her human reaction to the pregnancy of her teenage daughter. The movie unabashedly portrayed Palin as a human being, the real human being that she is, and that will win her more sympathy over time. The movie tells the story of a human and national tragedy. The ele...
